About MeAbout

Leading the creation of engaging & measurable user experiences for 15+ years.

A UX leader with a passion for solving complex problems. The User Experience methodologies I practice and mentor are built and continue to grow on top of these design pillars:

Understand

Discover, discuss, and validate assumptions. "If given 1 hour to solve a problem, I would spend 55 minutes understanding the problem and 5 minutes solving it." ~ Albert Einstein

Trust

Inspire trust in users through transparency, honesty, and delivering solutions that have clearly identified and solve users pain points.

Value

Improve user experiences by reducing time on task, simplifying workflows, eliminating duplicate efforts and automating tasks when possible.

Simple

Keep user interactions and workflows effortless, familiar, and simple to achieve desired outcomes.

Learn

Devote time to learn new skills relevant to current projects or future goals and put them into practice. Evaluate if they are valuable, and improve on them.

    Veritas

    Principal User Experience Designer

As the lead UX designer in the chief technology office I worked with an international set of internal startups that are focused on new technologies and integrations for the Veritas vision. Our focus was to rapidly research, design, develop, prototype and test solutions for inside and outside the company.
→ UX mentor for several innovation efforts within Veritas. The most rewarding was an innovation workshop where a small team (2 - 4 members) of innovation leaders would travel to our company locations around the world. During the workshops we would teach LEAN Startup methodologies and best practices along with giving our engineers a business value perspective on their idea. Building a business model using LEAN Canvas allows our inventors to de-risk and make an informed presentation along with a specific ask to leadership on their idea. This would include cost and time frame for a proof of concept, resources needed, and what the team intends to prove / disprove and learn from the effort. This gives our leadership the tools they need to move forward or shelve ideas quickly.
→ Help to drive our UX community, standards, guidelines, pattern library, best practices, and cross team collaboration for Veritas.
